Assemblies Should Purchase Tresh Masters For Refuse Disposal

Winneba,(C/R)July 15 A Minister of religion has suggested to the government to assist metropolitan and district assemblies to procure threshing machines, known as "thresh-masters", on hire purchase basis for easier and quicker disposal of refuse in the cities and big towns. The Right Reverend Dr. G. N. K. Zormelo, Bishop's Administrative Assistant of the A. M. E. Zion church, said when adopted, it would help solve the increasing sanitation problem facing the country now. He said in addition, the assemblies could arrange with the national jute factory to manufacture thresh-bags which could be sold to the public for the bagging of their refuse which should be placed at vantage points for collection. He was speaking to the Ghana News Agency in connection with this year's world environment day celebrations at Winneba on Monday.
