Asiedu Nketia: NPP is all about 'lies, demos'

Lies, boycotts and demonstrations are the stock-in-trade of the main opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), General Secretary of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) has said.

He told party supporters at the Bolgatanga Girls’ Senior High School during the President’s ‘changing lives and transforming Ghana’ tour that the Party elected Mr Freddie Blay as first Vice-Chairman and has now made him the acting Chairman because the former Deputy Speaker of Parliament assists the NPP with his lying machinery – Daily Guide.

Apart from its “lies,” the NPP, Mr Asiedu Nketia added, has been battering the NDC with endless demonstrations just to derail the government’s focus.

He has cautioned parliamentary aspirants seeking to run on the ticket of the NDC in next year’s election to ensure they shun lies, boycotts and demonstrations since they would be doing the work of the NPP if they did so.

“When our incumbent MPs have problems, let us tackle it in a brotherly manner but if you tackle it in a way that affects the integrity of the party and the president, the individual is doing the work of the NPP,” he warned.

“You should not attack the integrity of the incumbent Member of Parliament because for now, you do not have a record, which people can use against you, but if you win, four years is too short and what you did (attacking the incumbent) will come back to haunt you.”
