Ashanti citizens In US Donate Computer Towards Congress

Kumasi, (Ashanti Region) 9 Dec., A group of Ashanti citizens based in the United States and Canada have donated a computer with printer and accessories valued at over 10 million cedis to the Asantehene, Otumfuo Opoku Ware II.

The computer is to be installed at a secretariat set up by the organising committee of the Asante Congress scheduled for July and August next year.

Mr.. Kwame Bawuah Adusei, Leader of the Group, said during the presentation that the citizens were determined to provide the needed support to make the congress, designed to harness resources and devise strategies to accelerate the pace of development in the region, a success. He said they plan to purchase books for distribution among schools in Ashanti. Nana Kofi Owusu Aduenin, Omanhene of Denyase Traditional area, who received the equipment on behalf of the Asantehene, thanked the group for the donation. Gri.
