Akufo-Addo "urinates" on Mosque

NPP flagbearer, Nana Akufo-Addo on Wednesday,
November 30, 2011, continued his display of contempt for Islam and Muslims when
he committed the mother of all sacrileges by urinating on a mosque!
This sacrilege took place at Damongo during his
so-called listening tour on his way to Tamale from Wa.

Eye witnesses told this paper that while passing
through Damongo in a convoy, he was stopped by a party stalwart, Mwaza Sayeed,
popularly called Zegede, who is a tutor at Damongo Secondary school. Zegede is
reported to have told the NPP flagbearer that it will be politically unwise for
him to drive through Damongo without paying a courtesy call on the Yagbonwura,
Tutumba Dorenasah.
The NPP flagebarer therefore drove with his convoy
to the Yagbonwura’s palace and while waiting for the chief to come out of his
room, complained of having a full bladder. Unfortunately, he was told he could
not urinate at the palace because the place was a traditional place and the
customs do not permit him to attend nature’s call there on such a whistle-stop
visit.
The NPP flagbearer, after a moment’s hesitation, is
said to have walked out of the palace to a mosque nearby, unzipped his trousers
and while facing the walls of the mosque, proceeded to urinate against it,
spraying his urine on this holy place of worship.
Many of those who were present were reported to have
been livid, shocked to the marrow of their bone that the NPP flagbearer could so
desecrate an Islamic holy place of worship.
An argument immediately ensued among those gathered
there with some of his supporters opining that he acted out of the pressure to
relieve himself since his bladder was full.
Others, however, thought that his action was
unpardonable, especially coming a couple of months after he showed contempt for
Islam and Muslims by choosing Id-Ul-Adha, an Islamic holiday to release his
policy statement.
Arguments continued to rage on even as the NPP
flagbearer met the Yagbonwura afterwards but the reception from others around from
thereon was cold as they grind their teeth in anger at his continuous show of
disrespect
for Muslims and Islam.
