Ajax Cape Town and Lartey tie knot for 2 years

Ex-Ashgold captain and Ghana National Under -23 defender, Lawrence Lartey has sealed a two-year deal with South African club Ajax Cape Town.

The 23-year-old Ghanaian international centre-back, who Ajax earlier this last week confirmed has been training at Ikamva, impressed in his first full 90 minutes for the Urban Warriors in Saturday’s 1-2 defeat against Santos at Ikamva.

Lartey captained the Ashgold team to win four trophies in the 2014/2015 season including the Top Four, Ghana Premier league, Otumfou cup and Adansi Cup. His performance earned him a derby call up into the national team against Congo in an international friendly.

After signing the deal, the defender is waiting for his ICT and work permit to earn his first appearance for his new club.
