Mr. Wilberforce Emmanuel Owusu, Acting General Manager of the Hospital who received the equipment on behalf of the Hospital thanked the donors for their continuous assistance to the Hospital. Miss Caroline Schandorf, Midwifery Superintendent at the Hospital said the gift is a welcome relief to the Maternity Ward because of its assistance in safe delivery. She said the equipment is used in extracting baby from the mother's womb during the second stage of labour when there is no maternal effort and the baby is in distress. Miss Schandorf said the Hospital had one manually operated Vacuum Extractor but its operation is time consuming and energy sapping. Dr. Gyasi Sarpong, Acting Hospital Medical Administrator was present.
