AIDS CASES GO UP IN TEMA

Tema, Jan 29, The number of aids patients in the Tema municipality rose from 18 in 1993 to 150 in 1995, Dr Deborah Cubagee, Tema municipal director of health services, disclosed today. In an interview with GRI today, she said out of the 18 patients, eight of them had died. Dr Cubagee said by December, last year, a total of 39 aids related deaths had been recorded out of the 150 cases. In 1991, she said, the municipality recorded only 10 aids and warned that the incurable disease is fast spreading and people should take care of themselves.
