Suspected armed robbers have shot and killed a driver at Ejura in the Ashanti Region.

This is the third casualty of robbery attacks in less than a week in the region.

It follows a recent upsurge in armed robbery attacks in the region, which have left two people, including a police officer, dead within four days.

Ejura Police Commander Superintendent Anthony Appiah, who confirmed the incident to Class News, said the suspected armed robbers were at large.

To fight the increase in robbery in the region, the Ashanti Regional Security Council on Monday, May 23 announced they would form an anti-robbery squad to deal with the menace.

ASP Yussif Tanko, Public Relations Officer (PRO) for the regional command, has promised that perpetrators of such crimes will be brought to book.
