40,000 people register with NHIS in Cape Coast

Cape Coast, June 3, GNA- Forty thousand and hundred people in the Cape Coast Municipality, have registered for the Municipal Health Insurance Scheme known as "Oguaa mansin", by the end of May this year. The scheme's Manager, Mr Osei Reindorf who made this known to the Ghana News Agency in Cape Coast on Thursday, said 33,000 of the number are employed in the informal sector, while the remaining number are engaged in the formal sector.

He said there were plans to establish premium collection points in all the 42 communities in the municipality.

Mr Reindorf said the scheme is slated to take off in the municipality in July to enable more people to register.
