A man who was driving a BMW Saloon car, registered GR 408-12, miraculously survived a gory accident on the main Kumasi-Offinso road early Tuesday morning.
This was when an articulated truck, with registration number GE 7079-Y, which was coming from Offinso, dangerously ran into the BMW car which was coming from the Kumasi direction.
After the collision, the truck, which was coming at top speed, dragged the BMW car for about 20 meters, as Eric Baidoo aka ‘Kojo’, the driver in charge of the BMW car, looked on helplessly.
The impact of the crash was so severe that it attracted a huge number of curious people to the scene.
On arriving at the scene, the people realised that Kojo was still breathing and had sustained minor injuries so they rushed him to the hospital for treatment.
Richard Karikari, a National Road Safety Committee member, who divulged the information to DAILY GUIDE, said the driver of the truck fled after the crash without even extending a helping hand to the driver of the BMW car.
According to him, one Mahamadu, believed to the driver’s mate, was arrested at the scene and is helping the police in their investigation as police also hunt for the driver of the truck.
Karikari said the driver of the truck overtook a car ahead of him, got into the opposite lane and rammed the truck into the oncoming BMW car whose driver is the Axle Load Manager at Akom on the Offinso main road.
