`EDUCATE CHILDREN FOR NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT'

Nana Gyang-Katayie, Jaman district Chief Executive has called on the people of Nafana Electoral Area to enrol their children in schools since this is the key to national development. He made the call at a durbarin his honour by the chiefs and people of Koboa, Duadao Numbers 1 and 2 at duadasom in the Jaman District during a tour of the 15 area and town councils in the district.

Nana Gyang-Katakyie stressed the need for the selection of the "right people to represent them on the unit committees and area councils", and commended them for their communal spirit in providing 24 trips os sand as their contribution towards the construction of a six classroom bolck, an office and a store for the district council primary school.

The District Chief Executive said the project would be financed by the government and the European Union and therefore urged the people to provie communal labour to complete the project on schedule.

He cautioned them against teenage pregnacy and drug abuse, and appealed to them to register when the voters register was re-opened during the year. Nana Gyang-Kata, who is also chief of Katayiekrom, advised the people to plant trees around their homes to serve as wind breaks as part of efforts to ensure environmental protection.
