New clinic inaugurated at Agona Swedru

The Agona West Municipal Chief Executive, Mr. Samuel Oppong, has said the government would continue to encourage public/private partnership to speed up development.

Mr. Oppong said this when he inaugurated the Lims Health Services Centre, a privately owned facility, at Agona Swedru.

He suggested to the Medical and Dental Council to set up a regulatory body to regulate charges of medical laboratories and alleged that some private laboratories and clinics give conflicting laboratory examination reports.

He assured management of Lims Health Services that the Agona West Assembly would offer them the necessary assistance to promote health care delivery in the Municipality.

Dr. Nii Adjei Adjetey, Agona West Director of Health Services, appealed to people in the area to register with National Health Insurance Scheme and urged the management of Lims Health Services to register with National Health Insurance Scheme to enable their patients benefit from the scheme.

He said the opening of the clinic at Agona Swedru would ease pressure on the government hospital.

Mr. Kofi Obeng, Chief Executive Officer of the Clinic, said the establishment of the clinic at Agona Swedru would complement the government’s effort to improve health services to the people.
