Dadease Agric SHS presented with GH¢139,000.00 bus

The Dadease Agricultural Senior High School (SHS) in the Sekyere Afram Plains District has taken delivery of a 58-seater Toyota bus bought at the cost of GH¢139,000.00.

Mrs Agnes Apenyo, the District Education Director, handing over the keys to the bus at a ceremony, praised the school authorities for doing a good job under difficult circumstances.

She said it is gratifying that the institution continues to make significant strides despite severe challenges and lack of facilities.

The school established in 1982, is ranked among the least-endowed SHS across the country; and the gift which came from the Finance and Economic Planning Ministry has been hailed as a big relief to the school.

Mrs Apenyo said, as one of the few agricultural-based educational institutions, the Ghana Education Service (GES) would do everything to support and create the right environment to enhance academic work.

She said the GES would collaborate with other stakeholders to improve the school’s infrastructure and help provide a well-equipped science laboratory, administration block, teachers’ bungalows and other facilities.

She encouraged the authorities to take good care of the bus by ensuring that it is regularly serviced.

Mr. Isaac Asiamah, the District Chief Executive advised the students to be disciplined and to use the appropriate channels to get their grievances redressed, adding that resorting to violence and vandalism is not the path to travel.

Mr. Ekow Annan, an Assistant Headmaster of the School, said they are grateful to the government for the assistance and added that the bus would be used to carry day students and teachers to and from the school as well as other educational activities.**
