AEEDA to establish more feeding centres

Ajumako (C/R), Aug. 31, GNA - The Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam District Assembly (AEEDA) with the consent and approval of the National Headquarters of the Ghana School Feeding Programme (GSFP) would open school feeding centres in two schools in the area.

The new beneficiaries of the programme are Ajumako-Solomon D/A Primary School with 283 pupils and Breman-Aharmakorambua D/A Primary School with 241 pupils.

This brings to five the number of feeding schools in the district with a population totaling 1,590 pupils.

Mr Peter Light Koomson, District Chief Executive for Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam, speaking to the Ghana News Agency, said this feat had been achieved through an exercise undertaken by his outfit to streamline the operations of the GSFP by way of harmonizing the number of rolls in each school.

He appealed to the caterers of the beneficiary schools to take the health needs of the pupils into consideration by providing quality food.

"You must take advantage of the abundant vegetables in the area to blend your food supply so as to give the children good diet," he added.
