Society for National Affairs wishes president well

Accra, Nov. 16, GNA - The Society for National Affairs (SoNA) has sent a message to President John Agyekum Kufuor wishing him well after last Wednesday's motor accident in Accra.

In a statement signed by Mr Anane Agyei, Executive Director and Samuel Awuku, Director of Communications, SoNA said it was thanking God for His mercies in rescuing the nation from such a disastrous incident. "We further pray that the sad incident never recurs," it said. "As a national youth think-tank with the prime mission of promoting nationalism and greater discipline among the citizenry, SoNA considers it appropriate to commend all Ghanaians for the high sense of oneness and concern they exhibited in their expression of sympathy with the president."

"That attitude is an indication of the Ghanaian's readiness to put the nation on top of their priorities. And we wish to encourage that sense of unity and care not only for the president but all Ghanaians." President Kufuor's car was involved in an accident on Wednesday at the Opeibea House traffic light while on his way to the office. The accident occurred when a Mercedes Benz car drove into the president's car making it to roll over. SoNA condemned the action of the driver of the Mercedes Benz who drove

into the president's convoy describing it as "incomprehensible, abominable and irritating". It called for investigation into the driver's action and urged the public not to rush to drawing conclusions on the matter.
