Jamasihene rescinds decision to abdicate

Jamasi (Ash), Aug. 5, GNA - Nana Gyimah Kesse, Jamasihene, known in private life as Mr Allen Gyimah, has rescinded his decision to abdicate and says he still holds himself as the Jamasihene.

He has therefore, called on the people of Jamasi to disregard his earlier statement in which he declared his intention to abdicate. Nana Kesse announced his decision at a meeting with the executive of a group, which calls itself "We Care Citizens Association" (WECCA), a local non-governmental organisation (NGO) on Sunday at Jamasi.

The meeting, which was at the instance of WECCA, was to broker a peace deal between a faction loyal to Nana Kesse's and their rivals. He explained that the confusion that surrounded his installation and rule, which called for the intervention of the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, compelled him to make that statement.

Nana Kesse therefore, welcomed the WECCA reconciliation initiative and prayed for the realization of its peace overtures. Mr Peter Obeng Mensah, Chairman of WECCA assured Nana Kesse that the association would bring peace between the two factions.
