Al huda Islamic Basic School in Kumasi has thrown a party for the teachers of the schools after an exceptional performance in the 2018 Basic Education Certificate Examinations.
The school started writing the Basic Education Certificate Examination in 2007 and has been doing well. They had 100% pass market nine times.
But this year, the performance shot up as many of the students came out with single numbers.
As a result, the patrons of the school decided to organize a party as a sign of appreciation to the teachers for their commitment in the course of the school.
Parents and Teacher Association's chairman of the school, Umar Musah Guba, told news men the important of organizing such a picnic.
" The teachers have been doing marvelously well. We want to make sure this achievement will not go unnoticed. That is the reason we organize this for the teachers. We want them to feel rewarded so that it will motivate them to work even harder" He says.
Head mistress of the schools, Madam Agnes Asamoah, thanks the Directors of the schools and also shares the secret behind their success.
"Our secret is hardwork and commitment. All the teachers here always try to give our best to the school. We don't have a school compound and also lacking enough facilities. But we always tend to give our 100%. We are grateful to the Patron of the school Sheikh Dawuda Nuhu Swallah for his show of gratitude for our support"
One of the teachers, Madam Dorcas Serwaa who teaches Ghanaian Language at the school was adjudged the best Twi teacher in the Metropolis in November. She also shares her thoughts on the schools achievement.
" I know our BECE results played a vital role in me winning the award. Teaching is all about passion. If you don't have the passion the work will be difficult for you"
