Education Director commends teachers

Nkoranza (B/A) April 19, GNA - Mr. Kwabena Agyemang-Badu, Nkoranza District Director of Education, has commended teachers who served as polling officials during the recent bye-elections in the district for their hard and dedicated work.

Mr. Agyemang-Badu made the commendation when he addressed a meeting of pre-school teachers in the district at Nkoranza.

He said the role that teachers play in the socio-economic development of the country could not be over emphasized and that government appreciated and recognized their efforts.

Mr. Agyemang-Badu commended the people of Nkoranza North constituency for the peaceful manner they conducted themselves in the elections and called on them to maintain the spirit of understanding and share ideas for the development of the area.

The Education Director advised the teachers to attach great importance to their work as kindergartens served as the basis for formal education and thus need to be built on good foundation.

Mr. Agyemang-Badu urged them to educate parents to promote environmental cleanliness as protection against diseases and urged heads of schools and to organize in-service training courses for their teachers to keep them abreast with new teaching methodologies. Miss Elizabeth Danso, District Pre-School organizer, stressed the need for teachers to prepare their lesson notes at all times to make their work easier and called on community leaders to provide better classrooms for Kindergartens to facilitate sound teaching and learning.
