AMAMA Appeals For Support

Chiefs and people of Anyinam, Moseaso, Asamang Tamfoe, Mampong and Ankaase (AMAMA) in the Atiwa east constituency of the eastern region have appealed to government, coperate bodies as well as non-governmental organisations to come and support the development in those communities.
Chief of Asamang Tamfoe, osaberima Okoh made the appeal at an executive meeting to discuss the welfare of the communities. According to him, the five communities formed the association to fight for developmental projects into the communities since they are all closer to each other on the Accra -Kumasi road. He added that chiefs have the responsibility to lead their communities and therefore called for total support from the people to help achieve the aims of forming the association.
Osaberima Okoh however expressed worry on how the sanitation day has been organised since its inception because he thinks it should rather be organised in rural communities instead of concerntrating in only the regional capitals and big cities. "I think the government is wasting money on the sanitation day exercise as the results are not worthcoming" the chief added. He also supported the idea for government to use the authority of chiefs to help in keeping the environment clean instead of waiting for a month.
On security issues, Osaberima Okoh appealed to the district police command to improve their visibility especially at night to deter robbers and other criminals from operating in the area as they have become a threat to the public.
