Kufuor told me Akufo-Addo is a dangerous man – Kofi Wayo

Maverick politician and founder of the United Renaissance Party (URP), Charles Kofi Wayo says former President John Kufuor once told him that New Patriotic Party (NPP) flag-bearer Nana Akufo-Addo is a “dangerous character”.

Speaking on Adom Fm's morning show programme on Wednesday, Mr. Kofi Wayo alleged that the former president expressed his reservations about the NPP standard bearer in 1998 during a discussion in his private residence.

Asked by the host Adakabre Frimpong Manso to withdraw his allegation against Mr. Kufuor if he was not in a position to provide substantial evidence, he replied “Yes, Yes, Kufuor told me this. He came to my house in 1998/1999 to tell me Nana Akufo-Addo is a dangerous man.

How can I lie to you. Why, why will I lie to you and Ghanaians”?

According to Mr. Kofi Wayo, considering the myriad of “damning” allegations against Nana Akufo-Addo, he would not be allow to vie for the presidency if he was in the United States (US).

He asked: “Why are people accusing him alone that he deals in drugs. Is he the only person in the NPP? Kufuor came nobody did that to him, Apraku and the rest are all there and you don't hear such allegations about them.

He further took a swipe at Members of Parliament (MPs) for what he described as the exorbitant increase of their salaries.

To him, the over 100 per cent increase of salaries portrays how insensitive people in authority can be, and stressed that it was high time electorates gave him the mandate to man the affairs of the nation.
