NPP Reacts To Circulation Of Fake Akufo-Addo Tape

It has come to the notice of the NPP Campaign Office that some shameless and unscrupulous person are circulating a fake recording purported to be the voice of our Presidential Candidate, Nana Akufo Addo threatening to eject street hawkers and vendors upon winning the election this December.

We wish to emphatically state that the said recording is fake and certainly not that of Nana Akufo-Addo. No such thing will happen under the Presidency of Nana Akufo Addo.

It can never be the intention of an NPP government to throw out people who are putting in an honest day’s work to make an honest living for themselves and their families.

We of the NPP wish to assure street vendors and hawkers that it is the intention of the NPP government from 2013, to create a more conducive environment that will enhance their productivity and dignity of their work.

The primary focus of an Akufo-Addo led government will be the creation of employment for our people through industrialization, the modernization and structural transformation of the economy.

For a party that is focused on employment, it is ridiculous to take actions that will worsen the already difficult employment situation in Ghana.

The vile and vicious propaganda being currently circulated by those who have failed to live up to their mantra and promises will not detract Nana Akufo-Addo and the NPP from its singular focus of providing jobs for our people, quality and free secondary education for our youth and bringing down the cost of living through a competent and prudent management of the convoy for the benefit of all.
