New Juaben South NPP canvases for votes

Koforidua, Oct. 4, GNA - Dr Mark Assibey-Yeboah, New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate for New Juaben South, has appealed to the electorate to vote for the party in the 2012 election. He also appealed to them to vote for him as a Member of Parliament (MP) to facilitate the needed change in the area.

Dr Assibey-Yeboah made the call when he interacted with the people of Betom, a suburb of Koforidua on Sunday as part of his campaign strategy to solicit for support for election 2012.

He said considering the margin of votes between the NPP and the Nationa= l Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2008 elections, it was clear that the NPP lost the election due to over confidence and assured that come 2012 they would go all out to solicit for support from the electorate to return the party to power.

Dr Assibey=96Yeboah accused the NDC of failing to fulfill all of its campaign promises to the electorate in 2008. As a result, he said, cost of living had gone up and the only way to save Ghanaians and the country was to show them the exit come 2012. He appealed to the people to turn up in their numbers to register when the biometric registration exercise begins.

The NDC Constituency Chairman, Mr Agena Sarpong, on his part said the area is a stronghold of the NPP, adding that come 2012 they would increase their votes to enable the NPP come to power. He cautioned the people not to be complacent but vigilant during the registration exercise to be able to stop any foreigner who attempts to register and also prevent those who would make an attempt to register twice= ..
