Aboaso (Ash), Dec. 11, GNA - Mr Awal Aziz, newly elected Chairman of Kwabre East Constituency of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has called for unity of purpose to ensure the progress of the party. He said the task ahead of the party in retaining power in the 2012 election was challenging and asked the members to work hard to achieve victory. Mr Aziz, who was speaking in an interview with the Ghana News Agency at Aboaso, in the Kwabre District on Friday, said "the party is still dynamic and strong" and remained focused to deliver on its campaign promises to the people.
He called on the party's officers at all levels to organise periodic educational programmes to educate people about the manifesto and ideologies of the NDC to help win more voters.
The Chairman expressed concern about the way and manner some people have been attacking President John Evans Atta Mills and said it was too early for people to start passing judgment on the Government's performance. Mr Awal endorsed the President as a capable leader who would lead Ghana into economic prosperity. He appealed to supporters of the party in the Constituency to rally behind the newly elected Executive to enable the members to plan and initiate more activities and programmes to move the party forward. 11 Dec. 09
