I’m not sure Ivor will win Nov polls – Samia

Samia Nkrumah has said she cannot be sure that flagbearer of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), Ivor Greenstreet, will win the November polls.

This was her response when asked by Class91.3fm’s Executive Breakfast Show host Ekow Mensah-Shalders if she was certain Mr Greenstreets will make emerge victorious in the forthcoming polls: “I am sure of nothing, but I know that we can get back the Jomoro seat.”

“I cannot guarantee that [Ivor will win], can I? I cannot guarantee except one thing; that we can get back the Jomoro seat and we can get back some other seats.

“This is what I know; this is what I’m working towards. The other things, I’m not in control [of]. If the CPP does not separate itself from the NDC, it cannot win,” Ms Nkrumah said on Thursday March 10.

“My priority is to win the Jomoro seat. That is where I’m putting all my efforts in the months to come. If the CPP comes out with seats in parliament, I would consider that a victory. We have only one seat and I am making efforts to recapture the seat that has given us the highest number of votes over the past two elections. Please let us be strategic and let us be practical. We can get back the Jomoro seat and a handful of others seats. I am quite optimistic that it is possible and the day when the Nkrumahists become vocal in parliament, when they can put out their positions very clearly, distinguishing ourselves from the NDC and NPP, that day the Nkrumahists will have a better chance of coming to power,” the former Jomoro MP added.
