Grand Coalition Launches Campaign

The Grand Coalition, made up of the PNC, the GCPP and the EGLE Party, yesterday officially launched in Bolgatanga, the Upper East Region capital, its campaign for the upcoming elections.

The launch was performed by the Coalition?s Presidential Candidate, Dr Edward Nasigre Mahama, with the support of other high ranking members of the Coalition.

The National Chairman of the Coalition, Mr Dan Lartey, was absent.

Outlining the vision of the Coalition at a well attended rally, Dr Mahama stated that when elected into power, his government would put together an economic stimulus package of $20 billion to jump-start the economy and bring about prosperity.

The running mate of Dr Mahama, Mr Danny Offori-Atta, said his nomination as running mate was by an act of God for him and the Grand Coalition to save Ghanaians from poverty.

The second National Vice-Chairman of the PNC, Dr Ahmed Ramadan, said the decision to launch the national campaign of the Coalition in Bolgatanga stemmed from the fact that Bolga remained the nerve centre of the PNC, adding that ?from today onwards, the Upper East Region would be known as the ?World Bank? of the Grand Coalition?.
