Organizers of #Goosie2020 campaign will on Tuesday, December 18th submit the endorsed presidential nomination forms with the 300K filing fee of flagbearer aspirant, Goosie Tanoh to the headquarters of opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).
The NDC through its General Secretary Johnson Asiedu Nketia announced election guidelines, which a section of the presidential aspirants in a petition to the party's council of elders branded it as illegal and aimed at creating an advantage for one candidate.
Following their petition, the council of elders intervened and engineered a reduction of the filing fees from GHC400,000 to GHC300,000 and a slight extension of the timelines.
Reports from the Goosie2020 camp indicate that while they believe there are still a number of issues outstanding, they are going ahead to file the nomination barring any direction from the party's Council of Elders or NEC.
Goosie Tanoh is currently on a campaign tour to the Western Region and he would be addressing members and supporters of the NDC in a video ad to be released Tuesday after submission of his forms by his campaign team.
He received overwhelming support from delegates in the Western Region who openly endorsed him and pledged their support to vote massively for Mr. Tanoh to win the contest.
Goosie Tanoh will have a huge task to beat competition from seven other flagbearer hopefuls including former president Mahama to get the mantle for the first time to lead the NDC against the ruling New Patriotic Party government led by President Akufo-Addo in the 2020 elections.
