Bibiani MP interacts with NPP supporters

Bibiani (W/R), Jan. 9, GNA- Mr Christopher Addai, Deputy Minister of Water Resources, Works and Housing, has observed that the pragmatic policies, plans and programmes instituted by the government to address the socio-economic problems of the country are bearing the desired fruits. Mr Addai, who is also the Member of Parliament for Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai constituency in the Western Region, mentioned the National Health Insurance Scheme, the Youth Employment Programme, Capitation grant, the School Feeding programme and the Mass Cocoa Spraying exercise as some of the significant policies the government initiated to improve the lives of the people.

He made the observation when he interacted with New Patriotic Party (NPP) Polling Station Chairmen and some executives of the constituency at Bibiani in the Western Region at the weekend. The Deputy Minister said the NPP government has been able to accumulate five billion dollars into the national coffers, which it came to meet empty.

Mr Addai said the government under the leadership of President Kufuor was using 90 million Euros to improve the railway system in the country. He said part of his MPs common fund has been used to purchase low-tension poles to support the electrification projects in some communities in the area. The MP said the Lineso-Adupri-Tano and Nkronua-Mmerewa feeder roads as well as some other feeder roads would soon be tarred, and that 25 communities in the constituency would also get electricity by the end of 2008.

He urged the party supporters to propagate the achievements of the government to ensure victory in the 2008 general elections. *
