NGO Evaluates Work Of HIV/AIDS Educators

Senya-Beraku (C/R), July 8. GNA-Mr Frank Ekow Longdon, Executive Director of Ghana Renaissance Foundation (GRF), a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) engaged in anti-HIV/AIDS campaign, has embarked on a month-long monitoring and evaluation exercise on the disease in the Awutu-Effutu-Senya district.

The exercise was to assess the work of peer educators and leaders of School Health Education Program (SHEP) trained by GRF to augment national crusade against AIDS.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency at Senya Beraku after inspecting selected schools in the area on Thursday, Mr. Longdon expressed satisfaction at the work being done by the facilitators so far and advised them to intensify it.

Mr. Longdon announced GRF plans to launch a second HIV/AIDS crusade to press hard on the people the need to shun all forms of illicit sexual activities to protect them against the disease. He charged peer educators and SHEP leaders in the district to extend their educational activities out of classrooms to ensure drastic reduction in the rate of AIDS infection in the country. July 08 05
