Akropong citizens asked to contribute towards library project

Accra, Nov. 4 GNA - The Project Management Committee tasked with the construction of a library building for the Presbyterian University College at Akropong, Akwapim on Friday asked residents in the area to contribute both in cash and in kind towards the completion of the project.

A statement issued in Accra and signed by Kwabena Awuku-Lokko, Project Coordinator, said a formal announcement had been made to the people to provide materials and cash to construct the library as a special gift from the citizens to the university for choosing the town as a campus.

The statement said Akropong had benefited from the Presbyterian Church since the town welcomed the Basel Missionary and therefore felt committed to put their brain and brawn together to reciprocate this gesture.

It said residents had been asked to donate two six-inch concrete blocks whiles each household was to provide two bags of cement towards the project.

These items are to be delivered either at the project site at Salem or at a location designated by the Committee. It said all blocks manufactured in Akropong would be delivered to the site and the names and age of donors and number of blocks donated would be written down.

It said the information would be inscribed on the cenotaph to be built in front of the library.
