President Rosa first visited Ghana in December 2003 to attend the 27th Ordinary Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) in Accra. His latest visit was to bid farewell to President John Agyekum Kufuor and to thank him for his support and exemplary leadership during the Guinea Bissau crisis. He paid tribute to President Kufuor his personal efforts in ensuring that the transitional period succeeded. President Rosa's mandate ends on Sunday after the second round of voting in presidential elections in his country.
