In a petition written to the Metropolitan Archbishop of Cape Coast, the acting Finance Officer of the University of Education, Winneba has called on Archbishop Charles G. Palmer-Buckle to call Rev. Fr. Prof. Afful-Broni to order.
According to the petition sighted and published by topnewsgh.com, the Vice Chancellor of the university has been victimising and intimidating since he started raising concerns on illegal withdrawals from the University accounts and the misappropriation of funds supposedly meant for payment of allowances of distance lecturers.
In the petition a copy of which is published below, he writes "Rev. Fr. Prof. Afful-Broni continuously humiliate me including insults. He has gone ahead to even change the locks in my office denying me access to my office even though the handing over has not been done yet. I questioned him about my office keys and the fact that the locks have been changed. He insulted me using uncivil words on me."
The acting Finance Officer further alleges that the appointment of Mr. Francis Obeng by Afful-Broni was purposely to cover up the Vice Chancellor's misappropriation of funds under his stewardship.
The victims of the Vice Chancellor's actions according to the petition are Catholics and his actions are unbecoming of a Catholic Priest, considering the reputation priesthood has gained in the eyes of many, including Non-Catholics.
Sources say though the petition has gotten to the attention of the Archbishop Palmer-Buckle, the petitioner is yet to receive an official response from the office, exactly seven days after the petition was submitted.
