Ghana Premier League side Dreams FC have, as part of giving back to society, donated an amount of five thousand Ghana cedis (?5000) to the Al-Muntada Al Islamiya Ghana, Al Faruk Mosque in Ashaley Botwe.

The model club donated the cash to support an ongoing building project of the mosque on Friday after the weekly congregational prayers.

The exercise is part of activities marking the tenth anniversary celebration of the club.

The event will be capped by a homecoming game between the current Dreams FC side and foreign-based players who played for the club before trekking.

Dreams FC trace their roots from the Ashaley Botwe Community where they started during their Division Two days before moving to their current location at Dawu.

Donating the cash, Community Relations Officer Alhaji Cliff outlined the support of the club to the community as part of their efforts to support the community that influenced their growth.

“This is where we started and obviously we have to turn back and support the community.

“As part of our efforts to support the community, we make this cash donation of ?5000 to support the mosque project,” he said.

Receiving the cash, the Ag. Chief Imam of the Ashaley Botwe Central Mosque Uztaz Sidi thanked the leadership of Dreams FC and wished them the best in the sporting activities.

“We are always proud of this club and we keep praying for the best for u.

“We appreciate this gesture and pray that Allah rewards you abundantly.

“Unity and patience are the key elements that keeps a group going and we pray Allah gives you that,” Uztaz Sidi noted.

The relationship between Dreams FC and their indigenous communities have always been admirable, with Maamobi being another community that has benefited immensely from the philanthropic works of the club.
