Kotoko manager C. K. Akonnor has stated that his misfiring striker will find his goal scoring boot soon after a run of games without finding the back of the net.
After four games in the CAF Confederation Cup, Songne Yacouba is yet to find the back of the net despite getting some decent chances in those games.
Speaking to the media after his side’s 2-1 win over Cotton Sport, Akonnor says he is unperturbed with the lack of goals for his attacker but remains optimistic the player will start scoring soon.
“It’s just a matter of time. He will start to score again. Just like how Ronaldo started with Juventus, the beginning was difficult but he is now scoring a lot.
“So I’m confident Yacouba will start scoring soon. The most important thing is he helps the team a lot,” he added.
Yacouba was scoring in friendly matches for the club before the CAF Confederation Cup but is yet grace the net in the competition.
