McDan supports Ya-Naa’s funeral; promises more for the sake of peace

The McDan Group of companies has donated a cash amount of GH¢10,000.00,20 bags of maize and 20 bags of rice to support the performance of the final funeral rite of the late Yaa-Naa Mahamadu Abdulai IV.

At a short ceremony to present the items at the GbewaPalace, the philanthropist said he was happy that peace was returning to the Dagbon state indicating his preparedness to contribute significantly at ensuring lasting peace returns to Dagbon.

Alhaji Farouk Aliu Mahama in the company of Mr Gerald Owusu Duku, special aid to the Chief Executive Officer of the McDan Group, Gub Gbaa Wulana Yakubu, and Alhaji Ziblila Mahama among other dignitaries made the donation on behalf of the McDangroup.

The Group CEO, Dr. Daniel Mckorley who is also a development chief of Tamale (Gub Gbaa Naa) in a statement through his representative, Mr.Gerald Owusu Duku, pledged that he will continue to support and associate withDagbon in its quest for development.

He called on all, particularly the youth to conduct themselves responsibly to ensure a peaceful and a successful occasion.

He said peace and unity are critical ingredients for development and must be guarded by all, particularly the youth.

The family of the late king commended McDan Group for their support.

It would be recalled that the three eminent mediation committee, under the chairmanship of the Asantehene OtumfuoOsei Tutu, last month presented a roadmap for the resolution to the Dagbonchieftaincy crisis.

The leadership of both royal gates of the chieftaincy divide had assigned to it that both funerals of the former Ya-Na Mahamudu Abdulai and that of the late Ya-Naa Yakubu Andani be performed at the Gbewaa Palace, in December and January respectively.
