‘NDC using Krobos as 'hoes’ - NPP Chairman

The Eastern Regional First-Vice Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Alhaji Umar Bondinga, has said “the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has used Krobos as a ‘hoe’ which they normally use during farming seasons to weed and when it is time to harvest, then they reject the hoe for spoon to eat”.

“What I mean is that when it is time for us to exercise our franchise, you would see NDC members distributing items to convince the Krobos to vote for them but when they come to power, they reject them,” he added.

The Field Marshall, as he is popularly called, made these remarks when addressing residents of Oterpkolu during a unity walk dubbed: “Rekindling the Unity for Victory in 2020” held by the NPP in the Yilo Krobo Constituency of the Eastern Region.

He therefore urged the Krobos to reject the NDC in the next elections since it has nothing good to offer them. Rather, he entreated them to fully support the ruling government to deliver its promises to Ghanaians.

Stressing further, Alhaji Umar Bodinga was of the view that the three Krobo constituencies within the region had been the centre of agriculture and as a result, they chose the centre of Krobo, which is Yilo, to organize a unity walk in their quest to alert the people of the good things the NPP government has been doing.

He stressed that there had been tremendous development in the Yilo Krobo Constituency and that if the NPP gets both an MP and a DCE, development in the area will be higher.

The Yilo Krobo Constituency chairman, Dr. Gabriel Odeh Apotey, also stated that even though the Yilo Krobo Constituency is an NDC stronghold, they were doing their best possible to capture the seat.

He told the people of Oterpkolu that the NPP had not abandoned them, as many people think the focus of the party is mostly on Somanya, adding that “the party has started its 2020 campaign with the hope of securing more votes for the NPP to win both the presidential and parliamentary seat in this area”.
