The Minister of Employment and Labour Relations, Ignatius Baffour Awuah, has said his attention has been drawn to the actions of some unscrupulous persons who have created pseudo-Facebook accounts in his name to extort money from innocent Ghanaians with the aim of securing them jobs.

A statement he issued on Wednesday, 7 November, said:

“I wish to state categorically and emphatically that I have no Facebook account and have also not authorized anyone to demand money from people in order to secure them jobs.

“The general public is, therefore, advised to treat these individuals as impersonators and fraudsters.

“In the meantime, the general public must take caution in transacting business with these individuals whilst the BNI, CID and other security institutions keep investigating the act.”
