"The MOMENT" newspaper launched

Accra, Oct. 29, GNA - "The MOMENT", an new eight-page weekly newspaper, was on Thursday launched in Accra with a call on the media to be fair in their reportage.

Captain (Rtd.) Nkrabea Efah-Dartey, Member of Parliament for Berekum, who launched the paper, called on the media to protect Ghana's young democracy by being careful in their choice of words so as not to create chaos in the December election.

The paper, which would come out on Mondays for a start, would feature stories on politics, sports, entertainment and religion. The chairman for the occasion, Mr Amoako Tuffuor, a Special Adviser to the President, advised the management of the newspaper to remain focused and not to allow competition to drive them to sensationalise stories.

He said the survival of the paper would depend on how it balanced the truth and what its readers wanted.

Mr Tuffuor bought the first copy of the paper for one million cedis.
