Abortion tops health cases in Jaman district

Drobo (B/A) Sept. 23, GNA - Abortion cases supersede all other health cases reported at the various health centers in Jaman District of Brong Ahafo.

Dr John Dadzie, the out-going Jaman District Director of Health who disclosed this at a send-off party held for him at Drobo said cases of unwanted pregnancies topped the most rampant cases reported, which included malaria and anemia.

He identified early sex among the youth and casual sex among adults as the main cause of the high rate of abortion cases. Dr Dadzie advised, especially the youth to change their sexual behaviour and attitude towards sex.

He thanked the people for making his stay in the district memorable and peaceful.

Mr. Johnson Ofori Asubonteng, District Chief Executive, commended Dr Dadzie for his collaborative spirit and exemplary life and urged all departmental heads to emulate him.

Mr. Amponsah Boateng, who presided, testified to the efficiency of the outgoing health director, saying he had helped to improve health care delivery in the district during his short stay and wished him all the best at his next station.
