Rainstorm destroys market sheds

Wenchi, Aug 31, GNA - A rainstorm that hit Wenchi and its environs at the weekend destroyed four market sheds recently constructed at the cost of 500 million cedis.

Speaking to newsmen after visiting the scene Mr. Yaw Gyan, the Wenchi District Co-ordinator of NADMO, spoke out against contractors against who do shoddy work.

He expressed concern about persons in authority who fail to maintain structures in their homes and workplaces. ''Disaster management is an integral part of national development and inter sector approach must be adopted.''

Nana Toah Samangyedua I, Queen Mother of Wenchi Traditional Area, called on the Regional and National Secretariat of NADMO to Assist victims of the disaster.
