Aduana Stars management member Isaac Koomson believes the Ghana Premier League champions can break into the group stage of the Caf Confederation Cup after being paired with Fosa Juniors from Madagascar in the last qualifying round on Wednesday.

Aduana were eliminated from the Caf Champions League after losing 4-1 on aggregate to Algerian club E.S Setif. However, Koomson believes they have what it takes to see off the Southern African club in the Confed despite their fairytale run.

Fosa Juniors have already eliminated Kenyan side AFC Leopards and A.S Port Louis as they make their maiden campaign in the competition.

"The pairing is a bit scary and can be termed as Ahmad Ahmad vs Kwesi Nyantakyi since the Caf president is from Madagascar and the vice is from Ghana," Koomson told Goal.

"However, I'm quite sure that we will be competitive and make the group stage unlike the period we were playing in the Champions League since the Ghana Premier League has finally kicked off.

"We've garnered enough experience from the Champions League so we will not disappoint our fans again. The team will arrive from Algeria on Friday and play our first league game against Elmina Sharks on Sunday at Cape Coast Sports Stadium," he added.

Aduana will host the first leg on April 8 at the Nana Agyeman Badu Park, before they travel to Stade Alexandre Rabemananjara in the city of Mahajanga for the return fixture ten days later.
