Sunyani (B/A) June 23, GNA- The Economic and Business Administration Department of the Catholic University of Fiapre, near Sunyani on Monday organized an exhibition of books written by first-year students of the institution.

Thirty-four students, including 11 females, were involved in the project, the first of its kind since the inauguration of the university a year ago.

Professor Ekow Mensah, Dean of the Department and Sister (Professor) Kathleen Feeley, Professor of English, both of the University, jointly cut the tape to open the exhibition, which took the students a semester to complete.

The books covered information, communication, science and technology, religious studies as well as economic, business and administration.

Professor Feeley, an initiator of the programme, explained that she introduced the students to the programme to enable them to acquire interest in book writing and to develop communication skills. She said under the programme, "Exhibition of Self", the students were guided to base the writing elements on their biographies.

Some of the books had captivating titles, including "Portrait of a virtuous woman", "Early Stages towards greatness", "The making of a baby into a lady" and "My life in writing".

Charles Alex Cosmos, leader of the students and President of level 100 students, on behalf of his colleagues, commended Sister Feeley for her sense of initiative and called for more of such practical works to build them in the art of writing books.
