Queens Delighted At Skipper’s Comeback

As Genevieve Clottey hands over captain’s band

The camp of the Women National Team, Black Queens was thrown into a state of ecstasy with the arrival of inspirational captain, Alberta Sackey on Friday night.

Alberta who announced her retirement from international soccer after the Women’s World Cup in the USA last year rescinded her decision following an intervention from the affable Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, Hon. Rashid Bawa.

Space Fm investigations has revealed that the current Africa’s Best Woman footballer was given a rousing welcome by her colleagues last Friday night and has since started training with the team. Reports say Alberta has lost none of her deft touches and her arrival has indeed bolstered the confidence of the Queens as they prepare to host the Super Falcons Of Nigeria on 14th February in an uncompromising second-leg of Athens 2004 Olympic Qualifier at! the Accra Sports Stadium.

In another development, Genevieve Clottey who acted as Captain in Alberta’s absence has voluntarily handed over the Captain’s band to Alberta Sackey.
