Two Policemen Still Missing

Seven days after the disappearance of Coporal Owusu Sekyere, alias Kweku Ninja of GTV Taikwando fame and Jerry of the Police Striking Force, their whereabouts are still unknown. The two policemen on Tuesday, November 24 this year, went to Ablekuma in the Ga District of the Greater Accra Region to arrest a resident. The resident raised the alarm that he was being attacked by armed robbers. A white Mazda vehicle with registration number GR 2024 P used by the Policemen was vandalised, its windscreen smashed and the tyres deflated with bullets. In the process, the two Policemen disappeared and have since not returned. They are believed to have been killed or held hostage by the mob. The search for the two have so far proved futile, a source at the Greater Accra Regional Police Command today told the Ghana News Agency (GNA). He said the two, carried out their operation without authority. " Under Police regulations, it is an offence to carry out an operation without approval from one's officers. " Furthermore, failure to report to duty for four consecutive days without tangible reason attract an outright dismissal from the Police Service''.
