GFA Is Incompetent - Sackey

....Our leaders have failed as

Portland, Oregon, Sept 29, GNA - African female Footballer of the year, Alberta Sackey, has lashed out at Ghanaian soccer officials describing them as inefficient and ineffective who lack what it takes to transform the game.

Sackey who is also the skipper of the Queens told the GNA Sports in Portland that the team was kicked out of the ongoing Fourth FIFA World Cup competition due to incompetent leadership of the Ghana Football Association.

The out spoken skipper accused the officials of lacking the sense of direction and were only interested in interfering in matters which did not fall within their domain.

Sackey struck twice against Australia as the Queens registered their first ever World Cup victory on Sunday in the final group D match. She accused the leadership of lobbying for the inclusion of their beloved ones in the final squad, which nearly derailed the cohesion and consistency of the team.

The veteran player who started from the bench in the second group match against Russia said most of the "favoured" players did not merit being included in the squad.

The Robert Morris College student said the future of the nations football would remain bleak unless there is a major shake-up at the "top" (GFA).
Sackey who announced her retirement from soccer said nothing would compel her to "plough back" into Ghana football until the current group of people "managing our soccer are kicked out". She also attacked the head coach Oko Aryee for not being a firm-minded person who allowed himself to be influenced and ordered about.
"It is unbelievable how a coach could abandon his programme for a team simply because a 'big wig' has ordered him to do so", the player said.
She said had the coach been a little bit firm on his decisions, the team would have gone past at least the first round.
