NDC to choose Talensi by-election candidate, June 21

The ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) has slated June 21 to hold primaries for the vacant Talensi constituency seat.

Starrfmonline.com understands six people have already picked up nomination forms to contest the seat which was formerly being occupied by the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Robert Nachinab Doameng Mosore.

The Electoral Commission has set Tuesday July 7, 2015 for a by-election in Talensi in the Upper East region.

The seat was declared vacant by the Speaker of Parliament following the enstoolment of Mosore as chief of the Tolon traditional area.

According to the EC, it will take nominations for the said by-election on Tuesday, 23rd and Wednesday 24th June 2015, at the district office of the Commission at Tongo from 9.00am to 12.00pm and 2:00pm to 5:00pm.

Nomination forms may be obtained from the district office of the Commission or at the Regional Office in Bolgatanga. Candidates for the election shall provide two recent red background portrait size photographs with full face and both ears, on the submission of their nomination forms with a GH¢1000.00 filing fee.
