Elected parliamentary candidate for Efuase/Ayeribi, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, has told Kasapa FM he’s always been a member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

“The truth is always one. I have always been NPP. All my family members including my dad and mum are NPP,” he said in an interview with Fiifi Banson on Anopa Kasapa on Kasapa 102.3 FM Monday.

According to him, his profession as a journalist made it difficult for him to exhibit his true party colours but noted that did not prevent him from doing party work at the constituency.

“Once you are assigned a task to perform, you have to do it professionally. So, I did my work professionally whilst at Joy FM. But when I resigned and went back to school to complete my law studies, I got home and as a patron of the party at the constituency I continued with the work that I had been doing,” the former Joy FM Morning Show host said.

He further told Banson that he was influenced to join the NPP because of their competence in managing the economy.

Mr. Oppong Nkrumah won the Efuase/Ayirebi NPP parliamentary primaries by amassing 219 votes to beat his closest contender, John Obiri-Yeboah who managed 145 votes.

The other contestant Bright Asamoah Acquah had 54 votes.
