Referee Cobbina vows to release ‘match fixing’ tape by next week

Class 1 referee, Franklin Cobbina has promised to release the tape of the Ghana FA official who called him a day before the middle league encounter between Guan United and Bechem United to compromise the match in favour of one of the teams.

Referee Cobbina, who was banned for a year for failing to show up at the Match Review Committee sitting, has finished serving his ban and has been waiting anxiously for ten months to be recalled by the Referees Appointment Committee to commence work but to no avail.

Speaking to Sportscrusader.com, Referee Cobbina has promised to release the tape of the said official and the other team officials who called him to compromise the game.

“As I have promised you, the tape will be released by next week for Ghanaians to know who wanted the game to tilt in his favour and why I am being punished. I don’t want to mention anybody’s name for now. When the tape is out, Ghanaians will be the best people to judge,” Cobbina said.
