Philip Addison Only Popular On Radio- Nii Nortyey

It could be recalled that one of Ghana’s legal luminaries, lawyer Philip Addison who rose to National Fame through the election petition filed by some leading members of the New Patriotic Party in the Supreme Court has declared his intension to go to parliament on the ticket of the party he was a lead counsel for by contesting the Kortey Korley primary election when the party opens its nominations.
Many political watchers have welcomed the intension of the astute lawyer noting it could boost the quality of the Legislative Assembly in terms of its law making activities. However the out gone chairman of the Kortey Korley Constituency who resigned his position as chairman to contest the primary has disclosed that the man seen to be his closest rival is only popular in the media.
Nii Nortey speaking to Kwame Tutu, host of Rainbow Radio 87.5 breakfast show said lawyer Addison has no roots in the party as many may think. He said people in the constituency only got to know him (Lawyer Addison) during the election petition hence he poses no threat to his ambition of becoming a member of parliament.
Questioned if as an immediate past constituency chairman he is aware if Philip Addison is a paid up member of the New Patriotic Party at the constituency level, Nii Nortey refused to comment but said the vetting committee will look into that.
The immediate past chairman urged members of the party to unite despite any differences that may arise in the forthcoming primaries.
