SWAG open nominations for elections

The Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) has opened nominations for its impending elections fixed for Saturday, April 18.

A statement signed by William Dodzi Ezah, General Secretary of SWAG said, the nominations which opened on Monday, March 9, will close on Friday, March 14, at 5:00pm.

The statement said, interested candidates can contact the secretariat of the Association at the Accra Sports Stadium to pick up nominations forms.

It said positions to be vied for are; President, Vice President, General Secretary, Deputy General Secretary, Treasurer and two Executive Committee Members

It said, candidates seeking the position of the president and vice president will be required to pay GH¢ 300.00 as nomination fee upon submission of their forms, whilst the rest of the positions will go for GH¢ 100.00 each.

It added that, each candidate will need endorsement from two members in good standing to qualify to contest for any of the positions.

According to the statement, aspirants must ensure that they are in good standing before filing for positions.

It also urged all members to fulfil their financial obligations to the Association by close of March 20, to grant them the right to vote during the elections.

The statement urged members to contact Mr. Kudjoe Fianoo Chairman of the Elections Committee and his assistant Prosper Harrison Addo for any clarification.
