Hearts incur Ghc35,679 debt after hosting AS Police in Confederation Cup

Hearts of Oak incurred a debt of Ghc35,679 when they hosted AS Police of Benin in the CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round first-leg qualifier.

According to the club, an amount of Ghc61,000 was spent in preparing for the match.

The breakdown of that amount included the team’s camping and feeding, rented buses for the match officials and the AS Police team, accommodation for five match officials and per diem and PTA (airfare for the officials).

Hearts grossed Ghc46, 360 from the gates and after deductions, which include the statutory 17,5 percent VAT charge, stadium user fee, cost of printing and other match related expenses.

A net profit of Ghc25,321 was realized.

The Phobians recorded a 1-0 win over AS Police in the tie and will hold onto that slender advantage in the return leg this weekend in Cotonou.
